Make A Banner Using Power Point

You can see the banners I just designed at - http://www.firedupladies.etsy.com/ http://www.artrageousclay.etsy.com/   http://www.ejeanbogerfinearts.etsy.com/

I just saw that you could make a banner in Power Point. As I have never used power point before I searched through out the forum threads and took from several posts, so thought I would combine all my steps into one place.

1. Go to Design tab. Click on page setup (located in left hand corner).

2. Enter Width as 27 inches and Height as 3.55 inches. Press ok.

3. Right click (outside of text boxes). Choose format background. I chose to use solid fill. But if you go to picture you can load any type of background you have. Hint - If you go to the paint program under accessories, (and have a scanner) you can scan any type of scrapbook paper and save in jpeg. This works well as a great background which you can retrieve by choosing picture.

4. Go to the Insert Tab. Chose picture to put in your pictures. Download picture(s) and move to desired place.

5. Go to Home Tab. Click on text box. I typed my shop name, font size, and the went to font type. Your font will change to each one of the different fonts you highlight, so you can preview them. I then changed

the color of the font. Hint - I used font size 150 (by typing in the size) and used bold, even though I thought it was a little blurry. Once I uploaded the banner I found I needed it bold to show up (and it wasn't blurry).

6. I then added the tag line by clicking on the second text box. I changed the font type, font size (70), and the color.

7. Once satisfied, I saved the finished banner in PNG. You can also save in JPEG. Hint - I found that when I saved, it asked if I wanted to export the slide so I clicked every slide. This is the only way that I could get it to save right.

I then downloaded to Etsy and voila! My new banner. I hope that this helps!

If you have any other hints to add, I would appreciate it!

Happy Saturday!

I am finally getting to setup my work space in Florida. WooHoo! I am cleaning and organizing, 2 of the things I hate the most! My style off cleaning is throw it in a box and I will get to it later (Ya, right!)  I always put off cleaning until the VERY LAST MINUTE!  I  have good intensions to work 20 minutes a day and get it done but I just keep putting it off.

I haven’t been totally slacking in the last 3 weeks. I have been working on my Etsy shops www.artrageousclay.etsy.com and www.firedupladies.etsy.com. I finally have enough pieces in FiredUpLadies to have 2 pages! I have also been playing with my pictures so I would love to hear any comments and critiques regarding them.

My newest listing in www.firedupladies.etsy.com is this Reversible Necklace -

Woodland Forest Reversible Ceramic Pearl Necklace

And the matching earrings.

Sterling Silver Pearl Earrings

Thanks for taking the to read a little of my ramblings!  I really appreciate it!

Facebook Fan Page is up and running!

I never thought I was going to get the darn thing to work for me! I have played with this fan page for weeks now off and on. I have pulled clumps of my hair out, banged my head against the wall, and generally questioned my sanity trying to make it work for me!
I finally figured out how to get the fan page working and then came the next hurdle! Putting my Etsy mini onto the page!
I don't think FaceBook could have made it more difficult!
I finally succeeded in getting the mini onto my fan page! What a relief! I can now sit back and wait for all those bald spots to fill back in!
I hope that you'll have more luck then me with facebook!
Good Luck!

My mom is doing great! She had a kidney stone that broke up and was easily passed so all is well, again.

Trade-A-Holics Etsy Team

Hi everyone!

I just spent last evening learning about trading on Etsy! There was a Trade Frenzy that I went to check out and was hooked. I started looking thru all the shops listed and started to think about Christmas, and thought "What a great idea!"

So off I went and I made 3 trades! What a great way to share my product and get it out to people. I also got 3 Christmas or Birthday (the dreaded birthdays at Christmas time!) presents for both of my daughters!

I traded with http://www.blingismything.etsy.com/ for bottle cap jewelry, http://www.firstlightglass.etsy.com/ for fused glass pendants, and http://www.thoughtfulexpression.etsy.com/ for earrings.

I also joined the TradeAHolics Etsy Team. If you are interested in maybe getting your name out there and meeting some other great Etsians, you might want to consider joining. This is a blog that will give you information about the team. http://www.tradeaholics.ning.com/

Hope to see all of you on the trading list!

I am traveling right now to do art shows and just wanted to tell about my fun week. I did an art show last weekend in Michigan City and my family came up and we went to the Blue Chip Casino in the evening. I had a great time on Saturday night and left with an extra $40! Sunday after the show I went back and lost all my winnings. BOO! I just didn't know when to stop.

I'm traveling with my mom and we are now in St. Joe, MO. Since we've gotten here my mom has been to the ER 2 times. Once for a UTI and yesterday for a kidney stone. Didn't expect to spend hours in the ER waiting room but what can you do. I am now off to set up the next art show so I hope the weekend will turn out great after such a crappy week!

Thursday, August 13, 2009

Hi everyone,

I just got back from a working vacation, and I had a lovely time. My kids and I went to Minneapolis, MN for the Loring Park Art Festival and decided to spend a few extra days at The Mall Of America.
If you are a shopper like me, this is the place to be! What a fun few days! The mall is one of the largest in the US and has 4 floors. 3 of those floors are shopping and restaurants, while the 4th has a movie theatre and more restaurants. The mall has an amusement park in the center, an underground aquarium, and a miniature golf course. Fun for the kids as well as the adults!

The first day was the day to look around and shop. We went to stores like Best Buy, Marshalls, Barnes and Nobles, and a bead store that are not your typical fare for indoor malls. We found all of our back to school clothes all in one place, and all on sale, too!

The food is plentiful and varied. It has 2 full food courts along with a multitude of restaurants. Some of them are Rainforest Cafe, Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co., Famous Dave's BBQ, and Ruby Tuedays to name just a few. We enjoyed going more casual with Long John Silvers, ourselves.

The second day was the fun day, and the kids loved it! We bought all you could ride wrist bands and rode rides for the whole day. The park is amazing when you think that it is indoors and has a 4 story limit. It has 3 roller coasters, bumper cars, the log ride, swings, and so many more. It was fun for young and old. And the best thing was the lines weren't all that long! I think the longest that we waited was 10 minutes! The park stayed open til 10pm so we had plenty of time to do all we wanted.

This was the funnest mall that we have ever been to! Even my 16 year old son enjoyed going and had no lack of good things to say!
If you are ever in the Minnesota area I highly recommend taking a trip to The Mall Of America!

New Items Available On Etsy!

Wild Woman Ceramic Pin
This Wild Woman Pin is a must have in any collection! I hand craft each piece out of a high fire paper clay. The paper clay makes the bead light and sturdy. (Not nearly as heavy as you think!) Not a lot of breakage with this ceramic piece!
I first created the fabulous dress bead to create a sense of movement. I then wire wrapped the pin in one length of wire to create the legs, arms, and the hair. I finished with twisting the hair and shaping it and included the seed beads on the arms and legs.
It looks great on a lapel or as an adornment on a hat. I have also had some use the pin on their screen door. Just pin it thru the screen and you'll never forget that it is there again!
The piece is 5 inches (12.7 centimeter) in height and 1 1/2 inches (3.81 centimeter)in width. It is white and orange in color with Brass colored wire and silver lined clear glass beads.
The ceramic beads are on a kilt type pin. The pin is wired straight thru the beads, making it impossible for the pin back to come off.

Gold Heart Ceramic Earrings
These Heart Earrings are a must have for any earring colletion!
I hand craft each piece out of a high fire paper clay. The paper clay makes the hearts light and sturdy. (Not nearly as heavy as you think!) Not a lot of breakage with these ceramic pieces!
The hearts are 1 3/4 inches (4.445 centimeter) in height and 1 1/8 inches (2.8575 centimeter) in width.
They are a fantastic antique gold in color with a metalic type sheen to them. They dangle 2 1/8 inches (5.3975 centimeter) from Sterling Silver french wires.
They will come with a small rubber stopper. Sterling Silver leverbacks are available ($3.00). Please convo with details.

Emerald Green Ceramic Heart Necklace
This is a necklace that should be in your collection! I hand craft each piece out of a high fire paper clay. The paper clay makes the bead light and sturdy. (Not nearly as heavy as you think!) Not a lot of breakage with this ceramic piece! I will not make another like it. So you won't meet your self walking down the street.
The piece is a heart that is 1 1/4 inches (3.175 centimeter)in height and 1 1/2 inches (3.81 centimeter) in width. It is emerald green and cream in color with white accents.
The heart is 2 sided, one with a smooth finish and the other with a great pattern. It is 17 inches (43.18 centimeter)in length. A fantastic length to sit right in the opening of any type of shirt!
This is not a choker!
It is made with Hematite beads and glass seed beads. It had a special silk finished rubber tubing in black that is a great finish to this casual necklace. The necklace is finished with a lobster claw clasp.
I've been busy! I'm preparing for a big show, Pittsburg's Three River Festival. I am in the first 5 day section of the 11 day show.
I had a nice show in Louisville, KY. It was located at The Summit and had perfect weather.
Off to work some more. I'm leaving in the morning. Hope everyone hasa great weekend!

Hi everyone!
I've been really busy the last few days! I am working to get ready for my summer shows. I'm so excited! I got off the wait list for Ann Arbor Art Show! I am in the Fourth Street Section and I can hardly wait. This is one of the biggest shows in the US. It has 5 or 6 shows all running together in downtown Ann Arbor, MI. There is well over 1000 booths! This is something that I have been waiting for for several years!
As I have told you before I have some new rings and bracelets. They are turning out FANTASTIC! I LOVE them! It is so exciting to create something new and to be so thrilled with the way it's looking. (pictures were posted on my May 11 post.)
I am off to Louisville, KY this weekend. It is a 5 hour drive so not all that far away for me.
I hope evryone is doing well and has a blessed day!

New Listing

Are you searching for a spectacular Center piece? Well here it is! I hand craft each piece out of a high fire paper clay. The paper clay makes the bead lite and sturdy. (Not nearly as heavy as you think!) Not a lot of breakage with this ceramic piece! All of my Portrait Bead Series are one of a kind beads. I will not make another like it. So you won't meet your self walking down the street. It will look great in your next project! This is a great center piece for those with metal allergies!

The piece is a heart that is 2 inches (5.08 centimeter)in height and 1 3/4 inches (4.445 centimeter) in width. It is a emerald green in color with cream and yellow accents.

It has a horizontal hole 1 to 2 mm and can come on a waxed cotton cord with a lobster claw clasp in any length ($4, available in many colors)! Convo me with details.

I’ve previously matched these beads with this coloring - Hematite beads or Clear Crystal Quartz beads. I have included a picture with matching bead selections (not included in listing).

Thanks for looking!
Convo Me if you have any questions.

By the way - The lights reflect on the piece because of the glossy finish of the glaze that is on the bead. The picture doesn't do them justice!

I just wanted to tell of some of my triumphs this weekend!

I am being featured in a blog for the first time! It is tomorrow, Monday May 4. I am being featured on www.etsyprofiles.blogspot.com. Come take a look and learn a little more about me and many other great etsy sellers.

I am in 2 Treasuries! Thank you both OneClayBead and HeartsaBustin! The links are below:
http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=56039
http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=55946
You can take a look at their great shops at www.oneclaybead.etsy.com and www.heartsabustin.etsy.com.

I also received a award this weekend at Art in The Park in Brooksville,FL. 3rd place in fine craft. I am very happy and excited.

I am having many good things happen to me and now it is time for the sales to follow! lol :0)

Have a spectacular week!

Friday, May 1, 2009

I'm working on getting ready to leave and setup an artshow. I'm going to be in Brooksville this weekend. The weather is supposed to cooperate! Nice and sunny with no rain (and not TOO hot). It's in a nice park around a pond so there is shade! ptl So thats a good thing.

I've not made a sale on Etsy for 21 days!:( I'm not sure what's going on! I know that I've only been on since the first of April, but I was hoping for a little more response. I did have a sale in 2 days (Thank You, Shanon!). Once she received the piece she came back and bought 7 more pieces! But from then on I haven't done anything! I just feel like I'm sitting here and not getting much response. I guess I just keep pressing on and don't give up! Just keep listing new items and the will come. Remember the Kevin Costner movie "Field of Dreams" about the baseball diamond "create it and they will come"? I think that is my new modo "List it and they will come!" Thanks for reading, just needed a minute to vent! lol

I did have some exciting news just recently! I'm to be featured on a blog! It will be on Monday May 4! The blog is about etsyprofiles. They have also linked one of my pieces as an etsy fav. So that is good. Here's the link ifyou would like to check it out. http://etsyprofiles.blogspot.com/
Well have to go for now.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Remember - LIST IT AND THEY WILL COME!

Regina

fyi - this spacing thing is driving me batty! Sometimes my paragraphs show and othertimes they don't! If anyone can help PLEASE let me know! I'm pulling my hair out!
